This is a specialty firing for work made in 171 ceramics classes. Join us and use our custom built Raku Kiln! Be inspired by the dramatic firing results and learn each 'rule' of Raku, in hopes of making a masterpiece, or break the rules, in search of a serendipitous surprise! Either way, we'll have fun with this ancient Japanese technique and create an unforgettable finish! Enjoy the social atmosphere and get hands on with your firing. Register and create work in one of the following classes to be eligible for the Raku firing: Monday Night Clay | Tuesday Night Clay | Midday Clay | Open Studio Pass | Details will be given by instructors. Students may trade the 553 clay body provided in their regular 6 week class for the Raku clay body upon clay availability, free of charge. Extra Raku clay will be available for purchase.
