Location: Bruce House—Woodcock Ceramics Studio

Instructor: Jill Ackerman

This is a great workshop for beginners who want to bring their work to the next level! Learn and practice several styles/methods for making and attaching handles to mugs, pitchers & pourers! We will cover pulling, pulling directly off the pot, extruded handles & slab built. See several methods for adding texture, interest, and embellishments. Find inspiration for creating your design to make your work stand out as unique.

Optional but highly recommended: bring several leather hard vessels needing handles, (made with 171 Cedar Arts clay). There will plenty of time for participants to practice and play with these techniques with the instructor there for guidance, support & pointers. Attendees not currently enrolled in a class can have up to two pieces fired and glazed ready in a few weeks after the workshop.
