Come learn how to create fun digital art on the iPad in this 2-day workshop with Katherine Fultz!
On day one, we will learn the ins and outs of one of the leading natural media apps for iPad. We’ll explore the fundamentals of digital media creation-- including technical aspects such as the best resolution and file types to use for your projects, and how to use layers and texture brushes to achieve artistic effects. We’ll go through the process of sketching, coloring, and adding texture to create a set of images you can use in your social media posts, emails, and other digital applications.
On day two, we’ll take our digital images and learn how to turn them into a seamless repeating pattern. Repeating patterns are everywhere, and can be applied to stationery, home decor, clothing, and accessories. We’ll talk about some different options for using your repeating patterns, and best practices for working with digital images on print-on-demand websites. We’ll learn brick and half-drop repeats, and then upload our patterns onto Spoonflower so that you can order printed fabric or wallpaper at home.
The cost of the class includes all supplies, equipment, and a finished product of your choice. You will choose from a scarf, a pillowcase, or a travel mug. Katherine will walk you through the order process using the design you create and the online print service PrintedMint!
