Have you ever wondered why school buses are yellow? Or why you are attracted to certain colors? Certified color therapist and International award-winning artist Ivy Stevens-Gupta will explain why color matters. She will be conducting a full day color and creativity workshop on July 10th from 10am-4pm, at 171 Cedar Arts Center in Corning, NY. Ivy LOVES color and how it can express various emotions and moods and add brilliance to everyday life. During this holistic workshop, she will explain the psychology of color, its global connotations, and the science behind it. Videos, color tests, live demos, plenty of hands-on art projects and a few surprises will provide experiential learning for everyone.
Did you know that color can heal you? You’ll learn how physicians and scientists are using chromotherapy to help heal specific ailments such as insomnia, jaundice, acne, and depression. Chakra color visualization, interactive activities, and a live epoxy resin demo will keep you engaged. Several different painting and mixed media techniques will be taught. You can expect to create 3-4 art projects that use alcohol inks, acrylic paint, canvas, birch board, Yupo paper, gemstones and so much more. A healthy lunch and supplies are included. All YOU need to do is bring a willingness to learn and make new friends. It doesn’t matter if you’ve never picked up a paint brush or if you’re a professional artist-you’ll never think about color the same after this engaging workshop.
