Augusto Diemecke

Music - Violin (Suzuki)

Augusto Diemecke started his violin studies in Mexico with his father, Emilio Diemecke at the
age of 11. His training continued with teachers including Joanna Maikovska, Enrique Espin
Yepes, Jorge Risi, Manuel Suarez, Fredell Lack and Kenneth Goldsmith. Mr. Diemecke has
performed in master classes with Itzhak Perlman, Henryk Szeryng and Sergi Luca. He has
studied at The University of Houston School of Music and The University of Guanajuato School
of Music. He holds dual degrees from the Conservatorio Nacional de Musica and the Ollyn
Yolitztly School of Music, both in Mexico.
As an active performer Mr. Diemecke has performed in Mexico, the United States, Peru and
throughout Europe. Orchestral positions include the Mexico City Philharmonic, Guanajuato
Symphony, OFUNAM, Houston Symphony, Houston Ballet Orchestra, Cayuga Chamber
Orchestra, Orchestra de Norte do Portugal, Lake Charles Symphony Orchestra, Colgate
University Orchestra, Tri-Cities Opera and Orchestra of the Southern Finger Lakes. Mr.
Diemecke has performed as concertmaster in many orchestras including the Orquesta
Philharmonique du Tournon in France, Orchestra of the Southern Finger Lakes, Colgate
University Orchestra, Utica Symphony, Catskill Symphony, Schenectady Orchestra, Tri-cities
Opera, Flint Symphony Orchestra, Orchestre Philharmonique De Rhodanine and Orquestra do
Norte do Portugal.
Mr. Diemecke is much sought after as a soloist. He was granted first prize in the Concurso
Nacional de Violin, a national solo competition in Mexico City. Other solo engagements include
the Guanajuato Symphony, Morelia Symphony, Orquesta OllinYoliztli, Orquesta de Cámara de
Bellas Artes in Mexico as well as Corning Youth Orchestra, North Houston Symphony, Colgate
University Orchestra, Orquesta de Norte do Portugal, (OSFL) Orchestra of the Southern Finger
Lakes, (LBC)the Long Beach Orchestra and (FSO) Flint Symphony Orchestra.
A frequent soloist with the Ithaca Bach Festivals, CSMA and Corning Arts Center Benefit recitals
and Musician’s Choice Chamber Music Series, Mr. Diemecke has performed numerous
chamber music recitals in France, Portugal, Peru, Mexico and USA.
Mr. Diemecke has been teaching since 1988. His formal Suzuki training began in 1991 at the
Ithaca Talent Education Summer Workshop. He has participated in training courses with
Daphne Hughes, Linda Fiore, Marilyn O’Boyle and Carrie Reuning-Hummel. After joining the
Ithaca Talent Education faculty as a violin instructor, Mr. Diemecke has been a guest clinician at
the Dartmouth College Suzuki Institute, Vermont Suzuki Strings, Gabriel Faure Orchestra
training camp in France, Corning Strings Summer Camp and the Lima, Peru Festival. He also
serves as co-director for the Guanajuato Mexico Suzuki Festival, and founder with his wife
Christine Lowe- Diemecke Valle de Bravo Chamber music Festival,( Festival de Música de
Cámara Valle de Bravo), Mr. Diemecke has organized tours for the Ithaca Talent Education
advanced violin ensemble and his private studio string chamber orchestra to perform throughout
cities in Mexico including Guanajuato, Zamora, San Miguel de Allende,Salamanca, Toluca and
Valle de Bravo.
Mr. Diemecke considers his father Emilio Diemecke and his internationally acclaimed
conductor/brother Enrique Diemecke as his mentors in conducting. Mr. Diemecke is the
conductor of the Youth Orchestra of the Southern Finger Lakes 2005 to present time, Mr.
Diemecke has conducted with the Orquesta Philharmonique du Tournon (France), the Houston
Youth Orchestra, the Corning Youth Orchestra, the Vermont Suzuki Strings String Orchestra, the
advanced String Orchestra and Chamber Orchestras at Ithaca Talent Education, and NYSSMA
New York All State Orchestra.
Mr. Diemecke resides in Danby, NY with his wife cellist and suzuki teacher Christine
Lowe-Diemecke.
