CANCELED DUE TO WEATHER Making Real the Dream MLK Day Program for Youth at 171 Cedar Arts Center “Imagine the Dream” (ages 5 - 15) 20 attendees per session. Drake House Studio Theater | 155 Cedar Street Two identical sessions to allow us to maintain social distancing. Session 1: 10:00 am – 12:00 pm Session 2: 1:00 – 3:00 pm Welcome from 171 & Corning Black Employees Network (CBEN) Nana Anim | African Drumming & Dance Workshop Adrian McGrady | Flute African American Read-In of the Southern Tier of NY | Storytelling Katherine P Douglas Center for Diversity, Equity and Inclusion, SUNY CCC | Poetry Closing We have limited capacity in the Studio Theater. To allow for more children to attend, we ask that you plan to drop off your child(ren) for this event. “Awakening the Abstract” (ages 12 - 15) limited to 10 attendees.  Art Workshop for Teens  with Sam Somostrada 12:30 – 3:30 pm Ackerman Art Studio | 155 Cedar Street Students will learn color theory, color mixing and mark making, basics of abstract art, including Expressionism and a history of American abstract artists. Students will take home an original painting that they create in a style that resembles abstract art by renowned artist Jean-Michel Basquiat.
