The “Spy” Who Came Home
Transgender storyteller and Corning native Penny Sterling brings her one-woman show to 171 Cedar Arts Center’s Drake House Theater.
The performance is on Friday, November 15th, at 7:00 pm. And then on Saturday the 16th, Penny will give a storytelling workshop at 171 Cedar, at 1:00 pm, followed by a “Story Slam” where participants have the option of telling their stories.
In SPY, Penny tells of living life as first a deeply-closeted transgender woman who lived life as a man, and then of the trepidation and elation of finally admitting and transitioning to her authentic self. Hers is a story of pain and shame, but also of discovery and ultimately, joy.
The Drake House Studio is located at 155 Cedar Street on the corner of First and Cedar. Tickets go on sale October 7, 2019.
