Last week we returned “Applause” by Rosie Sandifer to the first floor of the Drake House. For the past few years she has occupied the basement lobby area but was placed in the entry foyer of the Drake by volunteers on Monday, February 4. Now she greets our guest as the enter our main building at 155 Cedar Street. The sculpture was a gift from Kae & Ben Stuart and Kate & Keeton Chamberlain.

It is great to have her back, especially as we celebrate our 24th successful production of the Patty Ozer Story Ballet. This year’s theme was based on “Le Fantôme de l’Opéra” the novel by French writer Gaston Leroux. The Gothic novel was published in 1909 and has been the subject of several movies and, most famously, a Broadway Musical by Andrew Lloyd Webber. Despite competing with the Super Bowl, we had a fantastic turn out for all four performances.
