Welcome
Founded in 1968, 171 Cedar Arts Center, an Associate Institutional Member of the National Guild of Community Schools of the Arts, is a not-for-profit multi-arts community center that presents performances in dance and music, and exhibitions of fine art and crafts, and offers educational programs in visual arts, music, dance, ceramic arts and drama. The Center is committed to providing quality, professional experiences in the arts in a warm and welcoming environment.

All class offerings may be viewed online. 171’s Houghton Gallery typically is a quiet space to discover something new and unexpected. Exhibitions change approximately every 6-8 weeks. The Studio Theater in the Drake House hosts performances by local theatrical and musical performers and student recitals. 171 offers classes in a variety of art forms – music, dance, visual arts, ceramics, culinary arts, language, and more – for people of all ages and skill levels.
